Int. Working Dog Conference — Design of collateral + Logo
A redesign of logo and all collateral for the International Working Dog Conference,
Snow Dog Edition — taking place in Vancouver B.C. This included logo, key-art, website,
street banners, speaker and attendee badges, plus promotional swag (t-shirt, stickers, tote bag and a dog bowl).
Existing material and website was close to non-existing, or with a military and police focus. The goal for this upcoming conference was to reflect a snow dog theme, feel relevant and modern with a cute and bold design, also incorporating the lifesaving side of the profession.
I created a colour palette with dark and light blue for a snowy, icy feel, with a contrasting soft red to represent the serious work. The colour palette was mixed with a modern humanist typeface and more decorative headers with a heavier snowy feel. I created all artwork and copy.
My hope was that the final designs appeal to the new generation of professional dog handlers, focussing on positive reinforcement training. Sending out a bold, modern look incorporating love for dogs in the cute artwork, but with a serious underline.
