Design of a local attraction map of the island Madeira, Portugal.
The goal for the design was to appeal to couples looking for authentic vacations including outdoor adventures. Madeira is an island on top of a massive volcano, and is known for its rugged nature, stunning beaches and namesake wine.

My hope was to show the contrast between the volcanic scenery and relaxing beach life.
For this purpose, a dark purple and green reflecting the raw, rugged nature — mixed with blue and pink bright accents for a relaxing vibe, was chosen.
To go with the colour palette, a slightly decorative typeface, mixed with a simpler typeface for the legend, was used.

I created illustrations, map tracing and background patterns to fit into the theme and hopefully catch the eye.
